Camano Island Community Guide

Explore Camano Island

Located between Whidbey Island and the mainland of Snohomish County, Camano Island is part of Island County and one of the largest islands in Washington. It is home to two state parks, Camano Island State Park and Cama Beach, providing scenic beaches to walk and explore trails. Connected by only one bridge to the mainland, Camano Island maintains its rustic country atmosphere where time appears to move much slower than mainland life.

Shopping & Dining

One large appeal of Camano Island is its low-key island lifestyle that surrounds visitors with natural beauty. That being said, Camano Island still has a top-notch collection of dining and shops scattered around the Island.

Found almost immediately as a visitor gets on the island, the commercial gateway to Camano Island is the Camano Commons shopping center. Grab a beer and a burger at the popular Tapped Camano. Sip coffee from Camano Island Coffee Roasters while perusing the multilevel shopping at the Camano Commons Marketplace, or take a short walk to Freedom Park to enjoy the playground and sculpture park.

Natural Surroundings

Camano Island is home to two state parks, Camano Island State Park and Cama Beach. Cama Beach is a must-visit destination with plenty of activities, including boating, camping, fishing, scuba diving, and 15 miles of hiking trails to explore. If you’re lucky, you may see a bald eagle and other native and migratory birds, depending on the season.

Don’t miss visiting the island’s county parks ask well. The Iverson Trail Preserve and English Boom Park provide tranquil island settings to explore and unwind.
